If you love a savory wrap filled with healthy, delicious ingredients, then this chicken club wrap is for you. Brimming with slices of smoky grilled chicken breast, crispy bacon, fresh, juicy tomatoes, ripe avocados and a mouthwatering sun-dried tomato mayo, this scrumptious chicken club recipe makes for a quick and easy lunch or dinner, loaded with flavor!
A Scrumptious Chicken Club All Wrapped Up
Any time I overindulge a little, whether it's the holiday season or any other time, I like to try to get things back on track by lightening the menu up a bit and adding in more fresh produce and lean protein.
I love that healthy eating need not equate to boring, flavorless food.
One of my favorite ways to enjoy lots of savory flavor is by way of a healthy, vibrant and delicious wrap recipe.
Quick and easy, my chicken club wrap checks all the boxes when I'm looking to prep a delicious lunch or dinner on the lighter side, filled with tender slices of smoky grilled chicken breast, fresh slices of juicy tomato and ripe avocado, plus a couple of strips of crispy bacon.
Tied together with a mouthwatering sun-dried tomato mayo to spread over the soft flatbread, this chicken club wrap is perfect for all seasons, brimming with lots of texture and all the flavor I crave when I want to eat a littler cleaner!
My Chicken Club Wrap Recipe
To create some of that smoky flavor in the chicken, I sprinkle over some spices along with a teeny dash of liquid smoke seasoning before grilling the chicken breasts until tender and juicy.
Grilling the chicken makes it nice and savory, playing nicely with the crispy bacon I also like to add to this tasty wrap!
I also whip up a quick sun-dried tomato mayo as the spread for this chicken wrap, which has a touch of garlic and some tanginess from a kiss of lime—it adds some brightness, and cuts the smokiness a little.
Adding in slices of juicy tomato and ripe avocado rounds everything out, offering freshness to each bite.
And as for the wrap itself, I love a soft, pliable flatbread here, a bit thinner than pita bread (though that works really well if you can't find more traditional flatbread). Sometimes, I even like to make my own homemade flatbread recipe, and press or roll it out a little more to make a thinner version for these wraps.
Here's a sneak peek at my recipe for chicken club wraps: (or just jump to the full recipe...)
- To get started, I prep my sun-dried tomato mayo to have ready and on hand.
- Next, I marinate my chicken with my seasoning and spices for roughly 20 minutes.
- I then grill my chicken breasts and slice them thinly to have ready for the wrap.
- To assemble my chicken club wrap, I spread some of the sun-dried tomato mayo on the flatbread, then add some tomato slices, some chicken, followed by avocado slices and a couple strips of crispy bacon. I fold the flatbread over, and then enjoy this easy and tasty wrap!
Recipe
Chicken Club Wrap
by Ingrid Beer
This chicken club wrap is brimming with fresh tomato, avocado and bacon, plus savory sun-dried tomato mayo!
Category: Sandwich
Cuisine: American
Yield: 4 wraps
Nutrition Info: 632 calories per wrap (with two tablespoons mayo spread)
Prep Time: 20 minutes (does not include marination time)
Cook time: 6 minutes
Total time: 26 minutes
Chicken Club Wrap Ingredients:
- 2 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut through the center length-wise to create 4 thinner cutlets
- Olive oil
- 1 teaspoon granulated onion
- ½ teaspoon salt (or your desired amount)
- ½ teaspoon granulated garlic
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon liquid smoke seasoning
- 4 flatbreads, warm
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced avocado
- 8 strips crispy-cooked bacon, cut in half to make 16 smaller strips
Sun-Dried Tomato Mayo Ingredients:
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup julienned sun-dried tomatoes, finely chopped (preferably not packed in oil)
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed through garlic press
- 1 teaspoon lime zest
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Begin by gathering and prepping all of your sun-dried tomato ingredients according to the ingredient list above to have ready and organized for use.
- To prep the mayo, place all ingredients into a small bowl, and carefully whisk together (or use a fork) just until well-combined. Use immediately, or keep in covered container in fridge until ready to use.
- Next, gather and prep all of your chicken club wrap ingredients according to the ingredient list above to have ready and organized for use.
- Place the 4 chicken cutlets into a bowl, and add in about 1 to 2 tablespoons of the olive oil, along with the rest of the ingredients up to and including the liquid smoke, and toss to combine. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 20 minutes, or even overnight if doing ahead.
- When ready to grill, place a grill pan over medium-high heat, add in a tiny drizzle of oil, and grill the cutlets for about 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until cooked through and golden-brown. Set aside and once cool enough to handle, slice into strips on the bias. Keep warm.
- To make the wrap, spread a generous amount of the sun-dried tomato mayo on the flatbread, and onto half of it, add a few slices of the tomato, followed by some of the grilled chicken strips, then some of the avocado slices, then about 4 of the smaller strips of bacon. Fold the other half over to wrap, and enjoy.
Tips & Tidbits for my Chicken Club Wrap recipe:
- Chicken breasts sliced into cutlets: I like to use skinless, boneless chicken breasts and slice them in half lengthwise to create two thinner “cutlets”. This makes the grilling quicker and easier. If you can find actual chicken breast cutlets, you can use those instead, but two larger chicken breasts work nicely here.
- Sun-dried tomato mayo for flavor: I use sun-dried tomato that is not packed in oil, as to not add more fat to this recipe, but you can certainly use oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes and simply pat them dry with a paper towel before chopping. They add lots of slightly sweet-tangy flavor to the mayo, and a pop of color!
- Middle Eastern-style flatbread, or other options: The thinner, soft and pliable type of flatbread is what I prefer for these wraps, but pita bread or lavash are also other good choices. You can even sub a gluten-free or low carb option here, if desired. If you’d like to make homemade flatbread, you can use my flatbread recipe for that, and simply press or roll it out more to create thinner flatbreads, more appropriate for wraps.

Hi Meghan, thanks so much!

I definitely want to make this sandwich. What kind if flatbread did you use?
The Cozy Apron
Hi Rose! If you happen to have a Trader Joe's near you, they have a wonderful Middle Eastern flatbread. But if not, find something similar to pita bread—nice and thick, and that should work. 🙂

What lovely kind sentiments. Hope at times seems hard to reach, but it is those around us with encouraging words and deeds lift us up enough to see the hope that springs from loving God and Loving others. Thank you for sharing your heart and your culinary gifts. Have a wonderful day.

Just made this for my fam! Absolutely LOVED it! The seasoning on the chicken was perfect! I did have to use freshly minced garlic instead but it was perfect!
The Cozy Apron
Wonderful, Courtney! Thanks so much for taking a moment to share your experience with me! Glad you all enjoyed. 🙂
Becca
I love your site! You have excellent pictures and instructions--i especially like how you include recipes for the sauces or dips as well. Can't wait to get cooking 🙂
The Cozy Apron
Hi Becca, thank you so much for that! My personal opinion is that the sauces, dips, and dressings are what can really take a recipe over the top with flavor, so I always include them. Happy cooking to you, and I hope you enjoy!
Gretchen
I am making this for dinner tonight. I don't have liquid smoke so I will use balsamic to add flavor
The Cozy Apron
Perfect, Gretchen! Hope you enjoy this with your little tweak!

Ingrid, we've been making this for years...very much enjoy this recipe. The only thing I change is to omit the liquid smoke if we use the grill outside with some apple wood chips. I've had to use tortillas before (more of a "wrap" in that case) when I couldn't get good flatbreads/pitas. In any case, we've enjoyed leftover two times this week, and we'll finish 'em up tonight. Love, Melissa

Glad you're enjoying the recipe Melissa! 🙂
