“You pull back your curtains
And the sun burns into your eyes
You watch a plane flying
Across the clear blue sky
This is the day
Your life will surely change
This is the day
When things fall into place...”
~Lyrics from the song, “This Is The Day” by Matt Johnson of The The
Perhaps, this is the day...
The day you change how you approach your life, or change the way you feel about yourself.
Perhaps this is the day that you look at yourself in the mirror, look at yourself directly in the eyes, with genuine love, and say aloud to yourself quite simply, “You are enough.”
Perhaps this is the day you decide, after much deliberation, to leave that job that no longer challenges you, that no longer stretches you and encourages the best out of you, that no longer causes you to grow and gain a sustaining satisfaction from the work that you do.
Perhaps this is the day you decide to renew your love for your partner, and vow to love him or her even more today than you did yesterday; to cherish every moment you have together and promise to never leave for the day without saying, “I love you” and embracing each other as heartily as you possibly can.
Perhaps this is the day that you muster the courage to speak up and share something boldly, to stand up for what you believe in and not hold back, even if your voice quivers, and the butterflies flutter in your belly uncontrollably...
Perhaps this is the day that you make the decision to take a huge leap, to step out into the unknown, to act in faith on that unshakeable urge within you to grab life with both hands and to do the work you were created to do, and to fully be the amazing human being you were created to be.
Perhaps today is the day you have that heart to heart conversation with someone who you need to have that conversation with; to be completely honest and bare, completely vulnerable and open about your feelings, and share your heart, and be steadfast in your truth regardless of what the other's response to you may be.
Perhaps today is the day you decide to do something bold, something that may surprise those who know you, something you've secretly wanted to do for a long time but didn't have the nerve to do—perhaps you'll cut your hair, change your hair color, get a tattoo, or put on a colorful outfit that truly reflects your taste and style.
Perhaps this is the day you kick a bad habit, or decide to get help with an addiction that has held you back from being the best you can be, held you back from making the genuine connections with others that you crave to make, kept you from creating those fulfilling and meaningful relationships you have been designed to experience.
Perhaps this is the day you become an inspiration to somebody because you behaved in an exemplary way, or handled a situation in an upstanding manner, and it caught the attention of someone and made a positive impression on them.
Perhaps this is the day that you muster the courage to speak up and share something boldly, to stand up for what you believe in and not hold back, even if your voice quivers, and the butterflies flutter in your belly uncontrollably, and your mouth is a desert.
Perhaps this is the day you decide to finally forgive somebody who has hurt you (whether they deserve it or not), and allow that pain and anger to melt away, to drift from you, to dissipate and dissolve into nothingness so that you can begin to live life in a way that is full and rich and free of that heavy burden.
Perhaps this is the day you decide to let go of all those things that are crutches in your life, those things that you lean on that give you a false comfort and security, and toss them to the side, and be vulnerable on your own two feet, even if fawn-legged.
Perhaps this is the day you stop focusing so much on what you don't have, and begin contemplating upon what you do have, and grow a gratitude-filled heart, one that is forever questing for the beauty in life, and for what is good and what is right in each moment.
Perhaps this is the day you treat yourself to something special, take a day off to spend it in bed or outdoors in the park or nearby gardens, and really rejuvenate and refresh yourself because you haven't taken time to connect to yourself in far too long, and you need to hear the voice of your own soul before you forget how it sounds.
Perhaps this is the day you kindly say “no” to somebody or something, and be secure in your decision, and not feel pressured to apologize.
Perhaps this is the day you enthusiastically say “yes!” to somebody or something, because it does make you nervous and maybe even scares you, but you know you'll regret it forever if you don't.
Perhaps this is the day indeed, the day something wonderful and unexpected happens, something life-changing, and unforgettable.
Taste what's good and pass it on.
“From The Heart” is a space for me to share some of my more personal thoughts on life. Here you'll find my reflections on my own inner/spiritual journey; on being a wife and mother; on being a creative; and general observations, pretty much whatever is on my mind.
I whole-heartedly believe that sharing 'from the heart' with one another is what connects us, heals us, and inspires us! Glad you're here...

Oh my, Ingrid.....
This message is so full of life and love and hope.
This came from down deep, encouraging us to be authentic and brave and true to ourselves and our Higher Self.
It is a poem. It is a prayer.
I am going to share this with my daughter because I believe it will speak to her and to what she is living right now. In truth, it speaks to all of us.
Sending love to you, dear Sister.
