    From the Heart: Staying Curious

June 18, 2018 by Ingrid Beer Leave a Comment

“Curiosity is lying in wait for every secret.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

    From the Heart: Staying Curious

Each and every time I sit down to write, I am greeted by a blank page and a little cursor that blinks and waits for me to make my move, and do something.

And each and every time I sit down, I am curious what will appear on that blank page...

I am curious what the muse will whisper in my ear and ignite within my spirit to share; I am curious what will be allowed to flow freely from the top of my head, down through my spine and into my fingertips, to manifest as tapping on the keys and into words that hold meaning...

And it is that same curiosity that drives me to awaken in the morning, to take a step out, to make an effort, to challenge myself, and to move into uncharted territory.

Curiosity keeps us interested, and keeps us interesting.

I am constantly curious whether I will sink or swim, curious what miracle awaits, curious what surprise will arise, and curious what crazy shenanigans life will throw my way.

Curiosity is a wonderment about how things will unfold, what will be learned, what will be overcome, and what new thing will be discovered that hadn't yet been revealed.

Curiosity is a powerful force, one that may have “killed the cat”, but keeps a human being quite alive and vital.

It is the forward thrust of this existence, one that sparks all creativity and all of creation, and keeps us moving, and building, and making, and adding to...

Without curiosity, we cease to truly live, cease to progress, cease to innovate, cease to be inspired.

We lose our zeal, lose touch with meaning, and begin to unravel and come undone.

Curiosity keeps us interested, and keeps us interesting.

It fuels our desires, our hopes, and our dreams, and keeps us engaged and wonderfully tangled up with life.

Curiosity is something to hold onto as tightly as possible, to cherish when it's there, and to chase when it begins to become buried underneath the strain of life.

After all, curiosity is the hope that there is more—more to taste and to explore, more to love, more to understand, and more to be.

Taste what's good and pass it on.

“From The Heart” is a space for me to share some of my more personal thoughts on life. Here you'll find my reflections on my own inner/spiritual journey; on being a wife and mother; on being a creative; and general observations, pretty much whatever is on my mind.

I whole-heartedly believe that sharing "from the heart" with one another is what connects us, heals us, and inspires us! Glad you're here...
