Spicy & Crispy Fish Sandwich, A Touch Fiery Like Me, Perhaps

Spicy & Crispy Fish Sandwich, A Touch Fiery Like Me, Perhaps post image

Something's in the air, so to speak. Maybe it can be chalked up to the full moon we just recently had, its magnetic pull tugging on the water in our systems, making us a little “off”; but people seem a little more unkind (would it be too much to say down-right rude?) and absentminded as of late, and I'm finding my usually fairly-chipper disposition being pushed to its limits. In others words, I'm finding myself becoming a bit more fiery and irritated with each not-so-friendly interaction, ... {more please!}

BBQ Chicken “Pizza” Grilled Cheese, No Dough Needed (Or Kneaded)

BBQ Chicken “Pizza” Grilled Cheese, No Dough Needed (Or Kneaded) post image

I'd have to say that BBQ chicken pizza is probably one of most favorite types of pizza, if I'm going to go the less traditional route of tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. There's something very comforting and slightly more complex about the smoky and spicy BBQ sauce, the tender and juicy pieces of diced chicken, the grassy-green flavor of fresh cilantro, and the pop of sweet heat from thinly sliced red onion. Mmm, mmm. But unless we decide to order a pie from a local ... {more please!}

Creamy Chicken Florentine Lasagna, And Learning To Find The Joy In The Process

Creamy Chicken Florentine Lasagna, And Learning To Find The Joy In The Process post image

A comforting, nourishing and delectable recipe that is worth preparing and sharing is often one that has at least a small handful of steps that need to be followed, or a couple of components that need to be prepared before everyone can gleefully dig in and finally enjoy the finished edible masterpiece. And when one knows about and prepares themselves for the bit of elbow grease that will be needed during the cooking process, one can then more joyfully enter into the whole experience of making ... {more please!}

Cheesy Italian Grilled Zucchini Boats, and Floating Along On The Waters of Life

Cheesy Italian Grilled Zucchini Boats, and Floating Along On The Waters of Life post image

The waters of life constantly ebb and flow. There are times that we float around in the calm stillness, where barely a ripple can be found as the sun shines down on the surface, sparkling and twinkling a mesmerizing tranquility that almost lulls us into dreaminess; and then there are times when our little boat—our being-ness—finds its way into more turbulent waters, where the waves lap and come up over the edge, a bit too close for comfort, and the clouds move in casting a cool, ... {more please!}

The Reuben “Roll”, A Grill’s Take On A Tasty Deli Sandwich

The Reuben “Roll”, A Grill’s Take On A Tasty Deli Sandwich post image

Just a few weeks back, we got a spankin' new, outdoor gas grill. Our old one had been on its last legs for a while now, and so we thought it best to put it out of its misery and send it off to “grill heaven” where it could frolic with other rusty-grated and barely-smoldering old-geezer grills. The one we have now isn't a fancy-shmancy expensive behemoth (which I'll admit are pretty darned awesome if you have the space plus droves of family members/guests to feed—we ... {more please!}

Zesty Chili-Lime Chicken Taquitos, and a Little Edible Magic post image

Have you ever thought about just how “magical” cooking really is? Just consider: cooking is taking a number of items in their unprepared—or raw—state, combining them in unique ways (with healthy sprinklings of love, of course); and then putting them through a process of change that makes them completely different. And if done successfully, what you've preapred is utterly delicious. As a personal chef and recipe developer, purchasing bags and bags of fresh produce and other culinary items is par for the course; and I've more ... {more please!}

Apricot-Pineapple “Sticky” Chicken, All Glossy And Slathered In Some Good Stuff

Apricot-Pineapple “Sticky” Chicken, All Glossy And Slathered In Some Good Stuff post image

I'm a very touchy-feely sort of person. From a young age, I have always felt quite comfortable offering someone that I know a little rub or pat on the back, or a quick peck on the cheek, if I'm more familiar with them. I love hugs, kisses and the radiating warmth of a caring touch on my own shoulder or arm, or even a playful tousle of my hair; I appreciate my hands meeting with someone else's and being clasped together in a friendly grip in ... {more please!}

Lemon-Basil Pasta Salad, Summer’s Cool Poetry Twirled Around My Fork

Lemon-Basil Pasta Salad, Summer’s Cool Poetry Twirled Around My Fork post image

There's a divine beauty in the summer season that can be experienced through our sense of taste when we place certain vibrant flavors onto our tongues so that they may awaken our palettes. And awaken them they do! The juice of a yellow lemon is at its sharpest and cleanest when tasted in the direct glowing hue of a golden sun ray; and the flavor of fresh, delicate basil is made more fully green and freshly grassy when partnered with that particularly good and tangy friend. ... {more please!}

Crispy Cauliflower Burger, and For Everything There is a Season post image

The melody and the words to the famous song, “Turn! Turn! Turn!” by The Byrds floats quietly yet pointedly in my mind as I sit here reflecting on how very quickly life seems to go by, and all of the changes that it brings along with it. My husband and I just recently had our yard slightly re-landscaped and covered with fresh green sod; and during the process it struck me, as I looked at the who-knows-how-old-by-now yellowed and thatchy grass that sat in dry clumps ... {more please!}

Tomato & Pesto Grilled Cheese, Crazy-Good Seasonal Food

Tomato & Pesto Grilled Cheese, Crazy-Good Seasonal Food post image

So it looks like there's going to be no getting around it: the warm weather is officially here. In full disclosure, I'm a little sad to see the coolness go, because we truly had no winter here in southern California, and I can only imagine how hot and dry our upcoming summer is going to be. (No! Say it aint so!) I'm not a fan of hot weather; can you tell? But OK, if we must welcome the warm season in, then we can at least ... {more please!}
